Venus Williams In Court To Defend Self For The Car Crash That Claimed The Life Of Jerome

The day of questioning has arrived for Venus Williams . . . the tennis star is about to sit for her deposition in the lawsuit stemming from that fatal car crash back in June. As reported , the family of Jerome Barson sued Venus - - claiming she is to blame for blocking an intersection and causing Jerome's car to T -bone her in a crash that killed Jerome. So , what happens today ? Barson's lawyers will undoubtedly grill Venus about her driving decisions on that fateful day and try to paint her as negligent. Venus will most likely fight back and continue to lay the blame on a third unidentified driver who she has claimed cut in front of her -- forcing her car to linger in the intersection . Depositions usually only take one day. Then the case could move to trial . . . depending on how today goes .

Nigerian reggae artist and dancehall singer, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy has spoken on being declared wanted by the Lagos State Police Command over gangsterism. The record label to which Burna Boy is signed with Spaceship records have officially released the statement on the course of it artist being wanted by the police. It was a denial that Burna Boy was involved with any robbery or ambush of Mr 2Kay. Mr 2kay was beaten up and robbed by four armed bandits as he lodged in Eko hotel, Victoria Island area of Lagos State. Pastor Must Offer Sacrifices For Killing Snake – Anambra Community

An altercation has ensued between members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, and Umuoji community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State over the killing of a snake in the community by the General Overseer of the Mercy Throne Assembly, Umuoji, Rev Jude Chubueze. Rev Chibueze said a snake stormed his house at night when members of his family were already sleeping. He said he heard his children screaming and rushed there to find a snake where his children had been sleeping. “When I got to their room, I saw a big snake lying with them and I had to kill it and threw it into the nearby bush. The following day, some community members marched to my house and accused me of killing their god. They beat me up mercilessly. “They wrote a list of items amounting to N54,890 which they said I should buy to appease their god. Uche Secondus Wins PDP Chairmanship As Dokpesi And Adeniran Reject Results

A candidate backed by Rivers state Governor Nyeom Wike has won the People's Democratic Party chairmanship. Uche Secondus has emerged as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) the major opposition party in Nigeria after he defeated three other aspirants with over 2000 votes. His close contender Prof. Tunde Adeniran polled 230 votes, Raymond Dokpesi scored 66 votes while Taoheed Adedoja nil vote. Meanwhile, Umar Ibrahim has won as National Secretary of the party with 1549 votes to beat Abubakar Mustapha who scored 371 votes and Nenadi Usman who got 287 votes. Also, Senator Gamawa Babawo Garba has been announced as the winner for Deputy National Chairman (North ) 1316 votes to beat six other contenders. Five aspirants have earlier withdrawn from the Chairmanship race which includes; Bode George, Jimi Agbaje, Gbenga Daniel, Rasheed Ladoja and Remi Olusegun. More Nigerians Return From Libyan "Slave Camps"

Another set of Nigerians numbering 164 (158 males and 6 females) returned to the country from Libya in the early hours of Friday, December 8th, 2017. The returnees, who left the country through irregular travel routes and mostly through human trafficking voluntarily returned to the country and were received by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) and International Organization for Migration (IOM). The newest set of returnees landed at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) aboard a Libyan registered aircraft at about 12.40am. Some of the returnees recounted the horrible experiences they encountered while crossing the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea.
