President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in
Osogbo, the Osun State capital, to participate
in the mega rally organised by the All
Progressives Congress (APC) for Gboyega
Oyetola, its candidate in Saturday’s
governorship election in the state.
The news was shared on Twitter by Bashir
Ahmad, Personal Assistant to the President on
New Media, Bashir Ahmad.
“President Muhammadu Buhari is in Osogbo,
the State of Osun for the mega rally to
canvass support for the APC’s governorship
candidate, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, ahead of
Saturday’s gubernatorial election,” he
tweeted.
The President is also expected to meet with
traditional rulers in the state ahead of the
rally.

Thirteen Persons Hospitalised As Explosion Rocks Akure

President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to sign the Not Too Young To Run Bill in the coming days. Buhari made this promise on Tuesday during a nationwide broadcast in commemoration of the nation’s Democracy Day. “In few days to come, I will be joined by many promising young Nigerians to sign into law the ‘Not too young to run’ bill,” he said. In July of 2017, almost one year ago, the National Assembly passed the bill, but it was only sent to the President for assent in April — two months after 24 of the 36 state houses of assembly endorsed it. I Will Pay Workers' Salaries, Pension Arrears Before 2018- Gov. Bello

Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi says he will pay all salary arrears of civil servants cleared and the pension arrears of retirees before the end of 2017. Bello also said that he would commence prompt payment of salaries of workers in the state public service from January 2018. He made the promise on Saturday at the commemoration of the 110th birthday of the Odeyani-Anebira, Alhaji Audu Otonoku and his eight years on the throne as the Otonoku in Lokoja. “As from January next year, we shall be paying all our cleared civil servants salaries as and when due." “I want to appreciate God that good days are coming to the people of Kogi,” he said.
